ahead of a full-length album coming on glitterbox recordings, the king of disco re-edits dr packer presents four of his versions of soulful dancefloor favourites old and new, giving a flavour of what�s to come from the lp. different strokes kicks off with a re-rub of the mk-produced latrece i want to thank you, itself a house cover of alicia myers soul classic from 1981. dr packer pulls back on the tempo, making way for keyboards that echo the vocal melody and enhanced percussion. next, he remixes still in love by shuya okino, a contemporary nu-disco classic with gorgeous string instrumentation and a tight guitar riff. in true dr packer style, his version has plenty of extra funk, fleshing out the bassline to suit a dynamic disco set. a remix of atfcs bad habit is next, again given the effortlessly laidback, groove-laden dr packer treatment. finally its soul rebels ill be good, a vocal house classic from the mid-noughties, reinterpreted masterfully for todays glitterbox dancefloor

medical records in collaboration with our friends at crispy nuggets blog are happy to reissue a very obscure australian gem from the 1980s. ironing music were a three piece band from brisbane. they originally formed in 1984 as a result of their collective love for new order, human league and eventually jean michel jarre and cabaret voltaire. comprised of bass and electic guitar, yamaha dx-7, melodica and an 808, they recorded a 12- single as their sole outpt in 1985 in a limited run of 250 copies (obviously excruciatingly rare now!). it was recorded in their bedroom studio with at teac 4 track. the video clip for the -hit- shopping bag women was played on several national and local television music shows. they also recorded demos in hopes of landing a lp deal which unfortunately didn t attract any takers at the time. they actually only played 3 gigs and were forced to disband after one of their members fell ill in 1986. the lp presented here included the original 4 track single as well as hand picked demos which nicely congeal to form a well rounded lp documenting the band s brief existence. they can best be described as lo-fi synth pop with an emphasis on excellent pop songs and interesting synth/instrument arrangements. the first track shopping bag women is infectiously catchy and just screams to be worn out in the club. fans of early to mid 80s synth pop and new romantic will fall in love. the tracks have been lovingly remastered by martin bowes at the cage, london. features original reproduction of the front cover painting. presented in a limited edition on 180gram vinyl.

looky looky is the new project from jeffrey sfire and ian clark, both residing in detroit, michigan. the pair met in the late 90s when ian was performing as one half of le car with adam miller of adult. ian also recorded under the moniker perspects, and released on clone, ersatz audio and interdimensional transmissions. jeffrey has released a series of singles and remix eps with samuel long as sfire on cocktail d amore music and ultramajic.

originally from brighton, kutmah made his name while living in the us, releasing some acclaimed mix tapes and building up connections with the brainfeeder & low end theory crews. in 2010 he was deported to the uk, lived in london for 5 years and now resides in berlin (while still holding down a show on the east london-based radio station nts). in summer 2015, prolific leftfield beatmaker kutmah released the 20-track instrumental beat album blk/smr on bandcamp. during march 2016 he selected & sequenced his favorite nine tracks for a forthcoming limited-edition 10 inch vinyl version of blk/ smr on hit+run.

reissue of an eye for an eye by byrne & barnes: a true westcoast/aor masterpiece, produced in legendary music city muscle shoals (alabama) and originally only released on japanese label climax. in 1981, robert byrne followed up to his 1979 album, blame it on the night, by teaming-up with multi-instrumentalist brendan barnes to record this rare westcoast classic. if they never recorded any other music together, both display incredible music career and went on to produce for many famous artists such as pointer sisters, patti austin, earth wind & fire, phil collins, brian mcknight, or boyz ii men to name just a few.
